🏆 BIKC BOURNEMOUTH LOCAL FINAL 🏁

Can’t believe it’s been a whole year since the last Local Finals!

I went into this one feeling really confident after winning the Grid Series competition in both Bournemouth and Southampton. 💪🏎️

PRACTICE 🟢

I only did the first 5 minutes of practice so they could charge my kart ready for qualifying. I set a 30.9, which put me fastest in my practice group. ⚡

QUALIFYING ⏱️

After watching Group 1, I knew the time to beat was a 30.7.

After a few laps I managed a 30.5, which meant I could relax a little, although I knew someone in my group could still beat it!

I kept pushing and managed a 30.3 to put me P1 for the race! 🔥

RACE 🏁

Starting from P1, I got my head down and started building a good lead. I eventually got it up to around 12 seconds! 😮

Towards the end of the race I caught some backmarkers who came together right in front of me. I used my experience to avoid the contact, but my kart got triggered (only my kart) with a yellow which wiped out the lead I’d built!

Once they took the yellow off, and I got straight back to built my lead again. 💪

I also managed a 30.2 fastest lap! 🚀

That’s the fastest Cadet lap of the year and a new record for these Speed 4 karts! 🏆 It’s even getting close to the track record I set last year when the karts were juiced up! 😁

Really happy to come away from the Local Final with the win and now it’s off to High Wycombe for the Regionals with Team Bournemouth! 💙🏁
