This weekend I raced at Rissington for the first time ever! My goal was to make the A Final again and keep racing with the fastest drivers in Club100.

Practice: I was happy with my first laps and did a 54.24, which put me just over the middle of my group.

Qualifying: I made sure I had some clear track after getting past a few karts. I didn’t have a tow, but I still did a 53.96, which put me P4 in my group! 🤩

Even better, that made me P11 out of 60 drivers, so I went straight into the Pre A Final. Goal achieved! 🎉

Pre A Final: Things didn’t go to plan. Going into Turn 2 another kart hit me from behind and spun me onto the grass. I worked really hard to catch back up and made 4 overtakes, but then I got a penalty that dropped me back 4 places. I didn’t think it was a penalty, but that’s racing and you have to move on.

A Final: I made the A Final ✅ , but had to start from the back due to the penalty. I was still excited because hopefully it meant lots of overtaking! But on Lap 1 another kart spun into my path (after they were hit) at Turn 4 and I couldn’t avoid it.. I was a bit sore,my kart stopped but I carried on… once I was cleared to do so.

I had already been lapped due to the collision, so I just kept pushing. I made 8 overtakes, which would have put me around P12, and I even set the 3rd fastest lap in the whole final! 💪🔥

It was a weekend with some fun and some bad luck, but I’m really happy with my speed. I can’t wait for the next round! 🏎️💨
